Bureau rules

Terms of Use

The Bureau rules for FieldBoop and boopbureau.com, in plain words.

Last updated October 21, 2026 · Published by BoopBureau

The short version

  • Animals only. No people's faces, kids, house numbers or license plates.
  • Ask the owner first, when there is one.
  • Give wild ones space. No chasing, feeding or touching.
  • Only your own photos.
  • Be kind. The Bureau reviews every boop before anyone else sees it.
  • See something wrong? Tap Report, or Hide it on your phone.

Agreeing to the rules

These rules cover FieldBoop (our app for logging animals you meet), boopbureau.com and anything you send to BoopBureau ("the Bureau", "we"). By using FieldBoop or sending us a boop, you agree to them. If you're under 13, use FieldBoop with a parent or guardian, and ask them before you send anything.

The rules

  1. Animals only. Photograph animals, not people. Keep faces (especially kids), house numbers, license plates and anything that identifies a person or a home out of the shot.
  2. Ask first. If an animal has a person, ask before you photograph it. If they say no, that's the end of it.
  3. Give wild ones space. Zoom in instead of getting close. Never approach, chase, feed, corner or touch a wild animal, never disturb nests or babies, and stay on the trail. Never share the exact spot of a nest, den or rare animal.
  4. Your own photos. Only send photos you took, or photos you have permission to share.
  5. Be kind. No mean, scary, gross, violent or inappropriate photos or names, and no harassing anyone.
  6. Play fair. Don't send the same photo over and over, photos from the internet, or photos of toys, statues or screens as if they were live animals.

The Bureau reviews everything

Nothing you send is shown to anyone else until the Bureau approves it. We can decline any boop, take down a boop we already approved, and stop a phone from sending boops if it keeps breaking these rules.

Permission to show approved boops

You still own your photo. When you send a boop, you let BoopBureau show it, if we approve it, in FieldBoop, on boopbureau.com and on the @boopbureau social accounts, with the animal's name, breed guess, state or town, and your agent codename or "Anonymous". You can ask us to take it down any time: email [email protected].

Report & hide

  • Report: see a boop that breaks these rules? Tap Report on it in FieldBoop and pick what's wrong. Reports are private, and the Bureau reviews them, usually within a few days. You can also email [email protected].
  • Hide: tap Hide to stop seeing a boop, or every boop from one agent, on your phone. You can undo it from Profile.

The game

FieldBoop is free and provided as is. Ranks, gear, coats and other unlocks are just for fun, have no money value, and can change or reset (we'll tell you first when we can). Your privacy is covered in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these rules

We may update these rules. We'll change the date at the top, and note big changes in the app or on the website.
